By the time you are in your sixties, your skin has been exposed to a number of harmful components present in the atmosphere as well as the environment. Naturally, your skin will show a number of signs such as scars, blemishes, burns, allergies, etcetera.

Our skin is such that it repairs and replenishes itself when needed. However, as we grow older, this process slows down and hence, leads to aging.

If as a teenager you suffered from acne and did not take care of it properly, chances are that you skin is already quite damaged.

Even though you cannot get rid of the aging process altogether, there are a number of tips you can follow to slow it down:

1-One of the best ways to ensure healthy skin is to integrate a healthy diet into your daily routine. A majority of people believe that the skin can be kept healthy only by topical treatments. However, this is not true- if you keep your body nourished, you will definitely have glowing skin. Integrate fresh fruits, green and leafy vegetables and whole grains into your diet. Vitamin E and Vitamin A are extremely beneficial for the body and all the most necessary once you are in your sixties. Therefore, including food into your diet that consists of these vitamins is important.

2-The major reason for the extreme visibility of wrinkles, age spots, sagging skin and fine lines is avoidance of the use of sunscreen. Therefore, a very important tip to keep in mind is to apply sun screen before stepping out of the house. Sunblock that has a high SPF will keep your skin from getting damaged by the harmful UV rays of the sun. These rays enter the skin and can cause irreversible damage. It can lead to additional wrinkles and most importantly- skin cancer.

3-As we grow older, our skin loses its elasticity and therefore, becomes loose and dry. Therefore, it becomes essential to apply a creamy moisturizer -especially after taking a shower. Applying it at night will allow the skin to absorb the moisture properly. Therefore, you must apply a rich oil-free moisturizer twice a day. You must wash your face properly before you apply the lotion so that dead cells can be removed. Lotions that contain alpha hydroxyl acids and retinol are recommended.

4-The firmness and plumpness of your skin is primarily due to fat deposits. As we grow older, this layer of fat becomes weak. The skin, therefore, becomes dry and begins to sag.
The best solution for this problem is to drink at least 8 glasses of water on a regular basis. This will help to hydrate the skin and keep it glowing.

5-Taking care to cleanse and exfoliate your skin on a regular basis will prove to be very beneficial in the long run. Including these skin care measures into your daily routine is recommended.

6-Massage the skin on your face with your finger tips before going to bed. This will stimulate the elastin and collagen fibers in the skin and keep the skin from sagging.

The following anti-aging creams are recommended

1-iS Clinical Youth Complex- This anti-aging cream offers such benefits that keep wrinkles away for a long time. It contains a number of anti-oxidants and natural hydrators which keep the skin radiant. Another ingredient “Innovase” reduces the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. Other benefits include exfoliation and a stimulation of the elastin and collagen fibers.

2-Clayton Shagal Colhy Gel- This formula is in the form of a gel and targets the collagen in the skin. This reduces the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles and also delays further aging. It also focuses on the pores and tightens them, making sure that your skin looks healthier and smoother. It also gets rid of skin problems like pigmentation and discoloration and evens out the skin tone.

However, in case none of the above mentioned natural skin care measures work, you can turn towards methods like liposuction, eyebrow lifts, chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser resurfacing and botox injections. While liposuction removes excess fat around certain areas, botox injections fill in wrinkles and fine lines. Methods like laser resurfacing, chemical peels and dermabrasion are slightly extreme and can lead to mild scarring.
